The UK MOD Defence Equipment & Support Organisation (DE&S) awarded Marine Specialised Technology (MST) Group a competitive contract to supply 18 of its 15m high-speed patrol boats to is MOD Police (MDP) and Gibraltar Defence Police (GDP), replacing existing craft in use with the MDP and GDP.  It is a new design jointly developed with BMT, which helped in the design of MST’s larger patrol boat HPB-1900, two of which are already in service with the Royal Navy Gibraltar Squadron.

The boats’ crews will perform tasks that include protecting HM Naval Bases in the UK and Gibraltar and patrolling the UK’s borders.

The craft will be powered by twin inboard, diesel propulsion engines, driving twin waterjets, reducing running costs, environmental emissions and increasing operating hours.

The bridge benefits include: an integrated C4ISR and boat management system and shock mitigation crew seats. These improvements are a major advancement for end users.
